Live Match & Scoring

By: Howard Glasser, PGA Head Professional, Eagle Springs Golf Club, CO

Summary

“We have a unique and very special three club Ryder Cup competition between Eagle Springs G.C. (Vail, Colorado), Nantucket G.C. (Nantucket, Massachusetts), and Queenwood (London, England) every two years. This past year, my club, Eagle Springs, was the tournament host. I was looking for a unique way to display the final round singles matches that would incorporate live scoring for everyone to view in a final scoreboard.” – Howard Glasser

Backstory

“We randomly received an email from Marcus and Your Leaderboard and we started to talk. We met at the PGA Show in Orlando and then began discussions on how to incorporate many aspects into a scoring system. We were trying to find a visually appealing scoreboard, but one that would be cost effective. After many different inspirations, we established on a design and they went to work.” – Howard Glasser

Problem

Many challenges arise in live match pairing and scoring for events. We needed to show fresh player matches and live results, but have the live results changing every three holes.

Solution

“We ended up using a combination of dry erase and sticker panels. The sticker panels allowed us to stage the matches quickly on the scoreboard and the dry erase panels enabled us to keep updated matches every three holes. The scoreboard turned out beautifully and was one of the highlights of the event, and looked amazing in the scoring area.”

Reflection

“Hats off to Marcus and the entire team for their professionalism, creativity, and timely delivery. I would recommend Your Leaderboard to any Golf Professional that is looking to recreate any scoreboards and enhance the quality of your events.” – Howard Glasser
